HERE'S WHAT OUR CUSTOMERS HAVE TO SAY....
“Fantastic Vacation” – October 2018
My partner and I had a marvellous 5-day stay at the Castlecourt. My sister and her husband had arranged to stay there at the same time and that enhanced the experience. We had never stayed at the Castlecourt before, but the four of us were unanimous in wanting to return. First of all, the staff were great. Check-in and check-out was made easy and enjoyable by the friendly welcoming staffers behind the counter. In the dining room, we were served by very professional waiters and waitresses. They were friendly and helpful and you felt that they enjoyed their work. We saw little of the room staff but no complaints on that score. The room and the en-suite were fine, a great bed and we slept like logs. Surprisingly little traffic noise from the street below reached us. I am partial to a big bar of soap for showering, but it seem like hotels prefer the little bottles of body lotion. Too bad. The hotel has a great leisure centre and we made use of it. Although, we did not avail of the free programs on offer, we used the big pool, the hot tub/whirlpool, the sauna and the steam room. Every night, there was free entertainment and dancing in Petie Joe's Bar. I wasn't crazy about the music, but it's the West and it was Country/C and W so I was in the minority. Still a friendly environment. Last but certainly not least was the food. On our Golden Age Package, we had breakfast and evening meals and they were superb. A great breakfast to start the day with lots of cooked choices. Appetizing, fast and efficient service. Evening meals were special. A great choice of starters, main courses, and desserts, finished off with tea or coffee. As a foursome, we sampled almost everything on the menu and I never heard a negative comment. The only negative was that we all overindulged. We will return, DV. P.S. Forgot to mention, spent one glorious day on Achill Island and the Atlantic Drive is not to be missed. If you love the wild Atlantic waves crashing on the rocks. I do.
“Always a great place to stay” – October 2018
Fantastic location and top class service. Ideally located in the town, walking distance to everything. A great base too if climbing Croagh Patrick.
Have also stayed here numerous times over the years while attending weddings in the hotel and it really is worth it. Have never had a problem with noise and breakfast is always good. I have found it pricey for a family holiday but as a couple it has a great price. Will definitely return.
“Lovely hotel.” – September 2018
Just back from a 2 night stay at the Castlecourt. Lovely hotel and spotless clean, we were celebrating a special occasion and Jan gave us a complimentary upgrade!! Room had a four poster bed and Jacuzzi bath. It was beautiful. Jan is a credit to the hotel, very welcoming and pleasant.
Breakfast was cooked to order and was top class. Only negative comment I have is, we were on the third floor and had to take 2 lifts to get down to the ground floor, as the 3rd floor lift only goes to the second floor! Then u have to get another lift to the ground floor. Overall had a lovely time at this hotel and would recommend.
“Food was exceptional, staff were even better.” – August 2018
After a second visit to the Castlecourt hotel, I just had to write a review. The food was amazing, I recommend the beef burger, which is probably one of the best burgers I’ve ever tasted (ask for the chili mayo on the side from the platter, it’s delish), also the roasted chicken (the mash is to die for). My mouth is watering, thinking about it. Secondly, the staff. Katie was our waitress for the evening she was so helpful, friendly and made our visit very special with her welcoming manner and friendly domineer. Just want to say a massive thank you, and to anyone reading this review, 100% recommend visiting.
