What sets this hotel apart from most others are the staff..They are an absolute credit to The Castlecourt…nothing is too much trouble and I have never come across a team so focused on customer service and so friendly. We stayed for 4 days and we just hated leaving. The food was to die for ..we ate in all the restaurants and also in The Merlot and the food was just wonderfully prepared and so fresh and again the service was just fantastic. We treated ourselves to some spa treatments and I have never experienced the likes …my mum said she felt like a new lady !!!! The pool area is spotless and a credit to who ever is responsible for running the area.If you want to be spoilt ,made feel at home and have wonderful service, start packing your bags and head west …….Thank you to all the staff at The Castlecourt..you are a true credit to the hospitality industry !!!!!

”Fabulous Stay” – Patrick27Limerick -Reviewed 8 January 2012 – Overall Rating 5/5

Getting to this hotel was worth the 3 hour car ride in Friday traffic. Automatically the receptionist made me feel relaxed and she was so friendly and welcoming that my fiance and I felt at home.rnI have no complaints about this hotel. The room, food, staff and night club entry were all wonderful. Other hotels could learn from this hotel. The packed breakfast room reflected how popular it is. The breakfast was wonderful. Had hoped to use the leisure facilities but i did not have time. We had a look in and they looked lovely. The room was huge with a couch, modern TV, confortable bed, biscuits with the tea/coffee facilities. The hotel itself had great character and beautiful furnishings. The bar had a very good band Friday night and we had a great chat with the bar man. All staff were so conversational, which i think is vital. I would consider this , 4 star plus. We will definitiely stay again.

“Lovely, friendly service” – claire026 – Reviewed 12 December 2011-Overall Rating 5/5

I stayed here for a weekend in December with my six year old niece and it was absolutely lovely. The room and bathroom were both a good size with all the usual facilities and spotlessly clean. Room service was delicious and served very promptly and breakfast was also good – a nice selection of meats, cheeses , fruits, cereals, and bread, in addition to a very nicely cooked full Irish. The pool area was a nice size and again spotlessy clean. What usually marks a hotel out though is it”s staff and this is where the Castlecourt excelled. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I managed to get my car locked into the carpark across the road and one of the receptionists went to a lot of trouble to track down the keyholders to try and rescue it. And my niece took real shine to another of the receptioints who couldn”t have been nicer to her, and had a smile and word for her every time we passed reception. We would definitely stay at the Castlecourt again.

“Loved it!” – Catriona L -Reviewed 6 December 2011- Overall Rating 5/5

I checked into the hotel after an unbearable trip from Athlone to Achill Island and then to Westport and I couldn”t have been happier. The big, comfortable rooms, hot shower and beautiful food made me forget that trip in the rain in an instant. The breakfast was also second to none and the staff were pleasant and friendly and never invaded your space. I was working on my laptop in the lobby and left in a rush and forgot my lead. I phoned the next day and reception had it already packed up and were waiting on my call to send it on to me. It arrived to my work three days later, so thanks Blainaid! I will definitely come back to this hotel for a break, it is the ultimate hotel to relax and unwind and if you get bored, the scenic town of Westport is on your hotel doorstep. Five stars, well done!

”Modern and relaxing” – Kane83-Reviewed 17 November 2011 –Overall Rating 5/5

A lovely modern hotel, nice and bright. Very friendly staff. We had the deluxe room with 4 poster bed, which was so comfortable & big, it was just fab! The only downside i thought was the bathroom which wasn”t very big, also the lift to 3rd floor can be awkward as the lift only goes to 2nd floor, you have to then go down a corridor to get the lift to 3rd floor, but in saying that the directions are clearly posted, this would be more an inconvenience rather than a problem. The food was plentiful and delicious. The hotel itself is spotless, and there was entertainment so we had an enjoyable evening, but alas we were the youngest there in the “mid week madness”! Would definately visit again and would highly recommend it to everyone.

“Relaxing. Hard To Leave Hotel!” – leopard44 -Reviewed 8 November 2011 – Overall Rating 5/5

Went here mid week with the kids for 4 nights. Brilliant value and we all had a great time. The kids club is on in the morning and evening and then an optional DVD in the evening. Gives you plenty of time to wind down or go for a romatic meal. Because the kids are busy, there were no cases of kids running around and ruining the relaxed atmosphere. Spent lots of time in the pool area with kids too! What I also liked about it was the central location to the town and you could pop out for a movie or a bite to eat at the many cafes, restaurants. Breakfasts were great as was the Orchard restaurant. The BISTRO could do with a change of menu/quality. We ate lunches over in the Westport Plaza (sister hotel) 5 steps away. Reckon we”ll be back next year if we get the same deal!! The best aspect of this hotel is undoubtedly the staff – positive, kind and happy people! Alot of the staff had been there years and they still managed to be postiive. Good sign of a hotel these days

In all the years I”ve been going to Westport this was my first stay in the Castlecourt and I will never stay anywhere else again. The end. :) Check in was pain free and the staff were so lovely and friendly. We had a family room which was really big and really nicely decorated with a good size bathroom too. Food in the Bistro was amazing and we were looked after so well by the lovely Chris who was the perfect example of customer care. Extremely polite and attentive (despite the fact he was also dealing with a group of fuss pots at the next table). We used the pool and jacuzzi which were lovely and warm and the changing room was absolutely spotless (something I”m particularly fussy about). The whole hotel is tastefully decorated and the bar staff were also really friendly and nice despite being run off their feet. Check out was quick and easy. The hotel is located just at the entrance to the town so I seriously can”t recommend it enough to anyone heading to Westport for a night or a long break.

Went to theCastleCourt for a short break with my 2 kids and my mum. Lovely hotel with comfortable family rooms, and great kids club. We had a meal included in our deal but unfortunately my brie was cold in the centre and I did not complain, but when my beef was tough and had a funny taste I did let the waitress know. But overall had a lovely stay, have been coming here for a while now and will stay here again, so maybe better just to book b & b as breakfasts are lovely.

Went to the Castlecourt hotel last weekend for a short break. Lovely rooms very clean with comfortable beds though disappointed with the small screen television. Requested quiet rooms not too far form the lift which we were given. Staff friendly and efficient. Food was good however one of the tables we were given in the restaurant was located infront of a welsh dresser where cutlery etc was stored and was extremely busy and noisy which we found disturbing during our meal. Hotel is very popular and would recommend that you e-mail with request for quiet rooms if you are coming for a relaxing weekend away.

Mainly good things to say about the hotel. Arrived a little early (around noon) and couldn”t check in as our room wasn”t quite ready. Not a problem as we were early. We offered to wait and the chap on reception said he would come and call us in 30 minutes or so when the room was ready. An hour later he hadn”t come so I went back to reception and got my key…The receptionist had forgotten. Room was fine. Breakfast was great. My daughter enjoyed her swim in the hotel pool. Overall, it was enjoyable. I had a good night”s sleep. Room wasn”t too hot( as many hotel rooms are these days) and bed was comfortable…nice pillows too!

Came here for a wedding and stayed 3 nights, we arrived about 7pm from Knock airport (about 70 euro in a taxi) We booked a standard room, but on checking in these had all gone and we got a free upgrade to deluxe. The room was lovely, huge 4 poster bed, corner jet bath, dressing gowns etc. Service was great and the reception were very helpful, they even helped us check in online to our return flight home. Breakfast was first class, there was continental buffet, then hot breakfast menu. I didn’t go into the pool, I heard everyone had to wear caps, which put me off a little. We did however visit the spa, we got a really good deal of 30mins massage and 1 hour use of the thermal pools. I would definitely recommend this. It is very close to the town centre, 5 minutes walk away. Would stay again!
